Comments Thread For: Roy Jones Hopes To Face an Explosive Mike Tyson in November

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. is hoping to face an explosive Mike Tyson next month. Jones and Tyson were scheduled to collide last month, but their contest was pushed back to a new date of November 28 in Los Angeles. The contest will be featured on pay-per-view, with Tyson fighting for the first time since 2005 - when he was stopped by heavyweight journeyman Kevin McBride.

      Going to be terrible

Did you see the UK TV interview Tyson did? Either stoned or on prescription meds. Wasn't fit to walk down the street never mind fight.

Roy is about to get wrecked!

Mike would have ko’ed you in 2003 and he would ko your little glass jaw ass today in 2020, even when you both reach the 60’s or 70’s Mike will knock your little ass out. Roy you slow on your feet now, punches are looped and missing and nobody telling you but you look shop warn and like an old punch drunk fighter, that’s your new name “Roy Punch Drunk Jones”

Dang....I keep thinking about how Roy looked when he hit the mat against Enzo Maccarinelli some years back, and I just watched him on Joe Rogan and still believes he's that old RJJ....This is going to end badly

This whole thing is ludicrous and anyone who cares for the sport should voice their opinions .Tyson is an old lost soul and self confessed blow addict , Jones is a chinny old fighter .....I don't hear Mike calling for a fight with old Lennox Lewis who retired gracefully from the sport many moons ago.

Yeah, but remember Mike hit the pads a few times and had to go to bed for a week. He's been 25 stones, took more drugs than Keith Richards. He'll gas out in about a minute and a half.

I did see that! He looked like he was either on some sort of opiate or possibly xanax. He was trashed. I can't believe they went forward with the interview

And Boxingscence didn't run the story (unless I missed it).

Retired or not he's arguably the most famous fighter alive today. He's in camp for a fight. Does a TV interview clearly off his head and no story?

What could go wrong in an exhibition fight?

I am surprised they scheduled it for 8 rounds. I would expect them to go maybe 3 rounds. How much are they going to pay whatever doctor passes their physical?
