How did everyone score/feel about Loma-Campbell/Linares

I had Loma-Linares basically even before the KO. 5-4 Loma I think but Linares had the KD.

Campbell was in a tight fight but I think I could give him 5 rounds as most.

I think Loma is probably number 1 pfp for me due to overall performances and quality of opposition consistently. No real asterisks by any of his wins as well.

But idk how anyone who knows boxing can honestly say he dominated either of those fights.

Made the thread because some lady in another thread said Campbell got shutout and Linares didn't do much better.

Campbell is definitely an underrated fighter.

Can’t say the same thing for Linares though. He’s good but that chin man, it doesn’t hold up. You don’t need Loma’s skillset to beat a guy like that. If you’re a big puncher, you’re good enough to beat him

I didn't think the Loma-Campbell fight was very close. Loma getting that wide UD in the UK felt accurate to me. Despite Luke being in the fight he definitely wasn't winning many rounds. Loma vs Linares being even before the stoppage is about right from what I remember. That was a hell of a fight.

Off my head I don't remember the score but Linares didn't win more than 3 rounds. & the Campbell fight was tight before the KD(s). I believe I had him winning 4 rounds iirc.

Two close fights but Lomas ring generalship is as good as any.
It didnt suprise me that two very good amateurs tested Loma a bit and that's only due to the reach and height advantage they both had.

I thought the Campbell scorecards were a bit wide. I thought he won about 4 rounds. It was pretty even until the knockdown. I think ESPN had it pretty level at that point too.

Campbell is underrated. His other 2 losses outside of Loma had some genuine reasons why he may not have performed as well as he could. The Linares one, his dad died back in England a week away from the fight. I know the Mendy fight he had some real issues with his training team before the fight and couldn’t train properly.

He’s been an unlucky fighter in some respects. Much lesser fighters have been world champs but Campbell never got any easy shots or vacant shots.

Not saying he’s elite or anything but I think a much better fighter than some realise. Very good amateur too.

Until recently. He got a shot at the vacant WBC belt against Loma. He's again, coming from a loss, in a title eliminator position against Garcia. Shouldn't the WBC have dropped him to the bottom?

Screw the belts and all sanctioning orgs.

Gave Campbell three rounds and Linares four rounds. I believe I gave Pedraza three rounds as well.

Lomachenko hasn't completely dominated any legit 135 pounder yet. But what separates is what separates Crawford in that they can be close for half the fight, but when they turn it up, their opponent can't keep up.

Lomachenko is a fantastic fighter, but Lopez is live this Saturday.

I meant he never got any easy vacant title fights like some do. He’s a way better fighter than Crolla and Flanagan who were British lightweight world champs in recent years but they got the breaks in picking up a title, which probably brings into question of what a world champion means.

In my opinion you have champions, then you just have belt holders.

As for the rankings, yeah, well it’s difficult to make sense of anything. The sanctioning bodies seem to just make it up as they go along and do what suits them at the time.
