Why do journalists drop fighters lower in P4P ranks as they fight better opponents?

Name one fighter Golovkin beat clearly that qualifies as elite.
Do the same for Crawford, Usyk, Spence, and Inoue.

      Spence is easy.

Shawn Porter has been at the top of the welterweight list for years. He's never been dominated and he fights everyone.

Usyk I don't think much of.

Inoue I don't think much of, but I acknowledge that Nonito Donaire is a name, and Inoue made light work of him.

As far as Crawford...I mean he's the one that said he "Beat The Man Who Beat The Man", meaning Jeff Horn, and according to him that win made him #1. So

        Porter is not elite.

        Jeff Horn is not elite.

Pound for pound lists are just subjective BS, I don't know why a body cares about them.

Journalists are paid to write articles and put them on their outlets like they aren't plugs.

What makes y'all think p4p isn't for sale? It's just a promotional status anyway.

Porter is elite for the division. This is not disputed.

When you almost beat the top guy in the division, you can only be elite. Otherwise we need to stop calling Marvin Hagler elite.

Try this again, name one of Golovkin's clear wins (in the books) that is elite. This time, don't duck the question.

Shawn Porter is a good fighter but not elite. He had several chances to show that.

First against Kell Brook and he was outclassed and outboxed easily.

Then again against Keith Thurman and he was outfought in a clear decision.

Then again against Errol Spence, where Spence had the toughest time out of Porter’s 3 losses but still won though.

Wins over Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Paulie Malignaggi, Andre Berto, Ugas, Granados, Devon Alexander...I mean, okay resume, but not elite. Not at all elite actually. Neither of those guys were elite except for DSG who WAS elite at 140. He hasn’t really been elite at 147 and even Errol Spence himself said this.

Thurman/Porter was in no way clear. Porter easily took the second half of the fight and different judges could have seen Porter's aggression and scored 7-5 for him. What saved Keef was his ability to make Shawn buckle on at least three occasions.

From my eyes Thurman/Porter was way closer than Spence/Porter, way closer than Porter/Garcia.
