Tic Toc
Next Saturday all talk and chest pounding goes out the window. We'll see if arrogance will back up the talk or calm confidence does it again. To me there has never been a more pick'em fight than this one! Counting the days while waiting for the outcome and words "AND THE NEW UNIFIED LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION" ______________Comment

As good as that fight is on paper... Lopez will get frustrated hitting air and not being able to keep pace with Loma... Then it's bye-bye game plan and hello TKO mid rounds... Loma is too elusive for an uni-dimensional Lopez...Comment

Mature adults know there are two sides to every story, not just the one that supports an agenda. And the article shows that Redkach "Redkach often criticizes Lomachenko" and did this prior to the incident and rubbed Loma the wrong way. There was no fight, no drama, just Loma not wanting to be buddy buddy with a guy who criticized him in the past and a story that goes beyond that recent beef.Last edited by richardt; 10-11-2020, 03:25 PM.Comment

I've always wondered at whom "trash talking " is actually directed. I believe that it is pointed more towards the opponent. Because normal people are not impressed by such boasting, often bloodthirsty and threatening, which is what it amounts to.
Another point. Lomachenko is the most brilliant boxer of today, unlike any other, full of science and unexpected moves, but, for me, the best amateur ever, will always be Laszlo Papp. 312-12 ? (or 7 ?) about 60 1st rd. KOs. He was the very first ever to win 3 Gold Medals, not repeated for another 24 years, with only 1 winner of 2 golds, in 1920-24..Harry Mallin of England.
MY reasons are that he fought in an era where there no head protector for amateurs. the rules were different, no penalties for invisible "infractions", and they actually fought just like pros. And they FOUGHT, knowing there were only 3 rounds. And.... Papp was only 5'5" tall, really a lt-middle fighting at middle; could always raise his output, which even from the first bell, was attack, attack, when needed. All his opponents were at least 4-5-6-7" taller, and he was like a terrier at their throats. He beat Jose Torres, later World lineal lt-heavy champ.
turned pro at age 32 and was forced into retirement by his Communist Govt. undefeated; age 38.Comment
