Comments Thread For: Zepeda: If No Title Shot at 140, I'd Drop Down For Loma-Lopez Winner

Jose 'Chon' Zepeda, the sensation of the moment, revealed that if he's not given the opportunity to fight for the junior welterweight championship in the near future, he would love to face the winner of the long-awaited lightweight battle between Vasiliy Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez, which takes place this coming Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Santa Cruz was a featherweight last year, for his 3rd title. Has had quite a few torrid battles. Now he's barely a130lber.

If Loma wins, it has to be at 135. If Lopez wins, they can fight at 140. I don’t think Lopez will have a problem with that

Wow! Lopez, Lomanchenco, Davis, those are great fights for Zepeda. Not only that, but they're fights that he has an even chance of winning. Zepeda has earned new found respect off of his epic battle with Baranchyk, it was a fantastic shootout. Zepeda is fighting at the top of his skill sets, everything is clicking. His post fight interview revealed him to be humble, and respectful. This is great for the sport of boxing, which can be brutal, and deadly. I have a new found respect, and admiration for the way Zepeda comported himself, after fighting such a savage battle.

Bob Arum was going to put Lomachenko vs Lopez on PPV but low predicted sales figures changed his mind.

Eddie Hearn has hit back at Bob Arum’s criticism of Sky Sports, claiming the veteran US promoter had tried to persuade the network to put on next month’s Terence Crawford-Kell Brook fight as a pay-per-view.
