Bernard had a great career and a “slow burn” for sure. But Roy Jones was making great fighters look average like James Toney. And he has a win over bernard.

Those two wins make his resume look real good.

Oh that’s great.. bernard beat Tito Trinidad, pascal and tarver when he was getting on in the years.. nahhh.. not as good as prime Roy Jones
I think slow burn describes Hopkins' career very well. Good analogy!

I thought about it and I go for bh. I like rjj took risks and win title at heavyweight.
But bh was also taking risk every fight when he was older guy.

Over the entirety of their career I find myself easily leaning to Bernard Hopkins.

Roy Jones was a monster and a personal favorite of mine, but when his star started to fade it went on the downside quick. As for Hopkins, he had the occasional loss but always came back and exceeded expectation.

I am saying bh, but I could change my mind. I wish I didn't vote.
Because going to heavyweight took its toll on rjj.
Who's to say if rjj didn't go to heavyweight he could have remained fresher at lower weights for years more?
I rate both above floyd though, sorry to mention floyd but he's the other American guy in the equation

I'm a bigger fan of Roy, but I agree with you.
Hopkins was a just as much a rarity.
He didn't have the talent & athletic ability of Roy (or most guys he fought) but that man didn't eat cheesecake for 15 years.
He was a chemist when it came to boxing.
Funny how he went from being booed and labeled a villain to a modern day George Foreman of sorts.

I think rjj is greater but I gave bh vote.
If rjj had of retired after Ruiz fight he'd be top 10. And I think bh is deserving of top 25
