Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: Arum Is Gonna Call Me The Next Pacquiao When I Take Over

There came a point in Teofimo Lopez's young and still rising career, where a proper ring moniker was needed to describe his meteoric rise. As proud as he is of his home base, El Brooklyn' just doesn't cover the gamut. Nor are his intentions to stick to one particular region or weight division within the sport.

I thought he was moving to 140 for sure in like the next fight. Now it’s “maybe I’ll move up”?

W/e. I think he’ll be impotent at 140 right now anyway. He needs to get better or wait out the division.

Has Manny Pacquiao in the last three decades won a WBC 'French-Fries' title tho? I didn't think so, I guess that means Teo is off to a better start.

He may be slightly exaggerating if HE believes that about himself but I could see old Bob actually promoting him like that

Hmm. Roberto Duno was called "a young Manny Pacquiao". We saw what happened.

I said it before. When a fighter does this much talking about themselves, it usually doesn't end well.

“I know one thing, Bob is gonna call me the next Manny Pacquiao when I take over and stuff like that.”

Oh yes, we'll hear plenty of stuff like that from Bob if Teo beats Loma!

lol, he may be right. It's unfortunate but that is the way of the promoter life. They have to hype up their next big cash cow.

They ultimately don't give probably 2 *****s about what they're saying as long as it sells and brings $$$ to their company.

In the end, only boxing historians can really determine what was said correct or not.

Maybe Teo, or maybe end up on one of those “when ****y fighters get humiliated” youtube highlight reels.

Correction: Romero Duno but yeah totally agree, he was a overhyped bum especially after he destroyed GBP’s prospect in Chimpa Gonzalez. The guy only has power thats it
