Bro I'm a Michigan guy. I'd love to see Toney get in & I expect him to to be clear. He was among my favorite fighters at one point & hell probably my favorite boxer in the early 90s, but I think rep & public persona might play into Toney being left out this year if one of the main 5 don't make it. He definitely is the least hospitable guy on the list by a mile lol + & more importantly he stuck around far too long & in my estimation that always diminishes your legacy.

Also I tend to think if it's not Toney who gets left off it'll be Cotto not Ward. I think the HOF might give more of a US lean in that instance & I feel like Cotto's resume has some weak points compared to others he's competing against.

I can’t say how the voters will vote, but I hope they are people who truly know the sport of boxing and the impact James had on the game, and what a great career he had, and make sure he gets in on his first ballot. I guess if it’s a bunch of new aged voters Lights Out might be in trouble.
True. Idek how many guys vote or who they are so that might lean me more or less certain guys knowing that.

I think Floyd & Wlad will gather the most votes regardless of any leans. I think if there is any fight to not be left off it'll be between Ward, Toney & Cotto. But again I think they all end up getting in ultimately this time around.

And I mean that's as it should be. This is a pretty insane class with all the multi champs, long reigns & past prime success.

As usual, I agree with you here. Toney is more deserving, Ward is more PC. I get it. I hope they all get in on the first ballot because they all deserve it. I just wish Toney had retired 7 years earlier, but it is what it is.

He doesn’t get enough credit for his one round destruction of “Neon” Deion Sanders though. One of his greatest wins IMO.

I am a big fan of Andre Ward but i’d wait on him for now. I’m not sure. He cut his career kinda short. I would have to go back and see everything he did and who he beat. I know he has excellent wins over Kessler, Froch, Kovalev, Dawson, and Arthur Abraham.
