God damn, p4p lists are hard to produce actually. I really don't feel like most people have earned being listed. After Loma I'm having a hard time figuring out who should go next.

It is the smaller weight's answer to lineal HW champion. There was no such thing as a lineal MW champion in the 1890s. There was p4p. You had the best of the no cap division and the best of the capped divisions. Not a ****ing list, not a ****load of informal champions, just two.

Lineal is a HW thing. That's the only division people really stuck to their guns about who was and was not champion. You don't have to pretend like Mitchell was champion because Sully fought BK. In the smaller weights you will pretend X was champion because Y was doing more than just being a less than HW champion.

P4p gets shafted so divisions of pretend lineal champions can be established. Lineal gets shafted so that HWs can play on p4p lists.

There are no such thing as rankings or official champions before the bodies. Lineal is the guy who took on anyone. P4p is the guy who could whoop anyone but those vying for lineal. Ain't no ****ing lists, ain't no sub-HW lineals, ain't no HW p4ps.

I do think it is interesting Wilder out ranks Joshua on every p4p list but almost no one ranks Wilder above Joshua here or in HW rankings.

I dont think so because P4P for me depends on what you've done recently and not just what you've done in the past.

Ask me if Crawford was higher than Loma before he moved to 147 and I would have said yes. But since then? Crawfords done nothing at 147 fighting no top guys.

Lomachenko on the other hand is still rolling through top guys and the best available guys.

Imagine if Loma was fighting a whole bunch of guys on the level of Anthony Crolla. Not bad, but definitely not great enough to warrant be called "the best".

I think you can plausibly argue that Crawford, Loma, Canelo or Inoue is the top p4p boxer in the world right now.

IMO Usyk should also be considered for the top spot but I know many disagree with that.

I have no problem at all making Loma number 1 pfp best and having Crawford not even in the top 5.Pound for pound is much different than resume. It is how good you think a boxer is for his pounds right NOW no what he did years ago. I had Crawford high years ago when he unified 140. But he has not done much or looked all that good since moving to 147. Beating guys like Brook and Khan who are washed up and no good anymore does not do anything for Crawford being pfp one of the best. Loma is fighting top opponents time after time and beating them by a mile. He is the best pfp to me right now. If he loses or even wins but struggles with Lopez I may drop him lower but right now he is number 1 to me. I am always watching the top guys and rearranging my top 10 pfp best when it is called for. Crawford has done nothing special in years to show he is still that good. If someone has him number 1 it must be based on what he did years ago and not on anything he has done at 147. Look at who Loma fights compared to who Crawford fights. Loma's next fight is with the 2nd best lightweight in the world. Crawford's next fight is with lousy Brook and Crawford is a 10 to 1 betting favorite. It is yet another Crawford cherry pick.
