Realistically, without the tens of millions of dollars in promo that they spend on the rematch, this PPV probably does 400k. My reasoning there is that it does better than the first one due to their names being grown here quite a bit since they first fought.

Each guy could make 5mil + upside with those numbers.

That means they both get paid one-fifth of what they made in the rematch. That is a hard pill to swallow and both their teams, especially Wilders, will be telling them “bad idea” if they have any sense.

Wilder could make that amount by taking a big step aside fee to allow Fury-Joshua and fighting a comeback fight against a no-hoper.

I’m not accusing anyone of ducking anything, but the fight seems financially impossible to make right. Even with crowds, Wilder and Fury would have had to take less money in the third fight, so without them it’s a real challenge.

Yea Wilder is such a big draw...with his previous fight against Ortiz, one of the four biggest bouts in his career, at the same venue, doing just over $4m with a half filled arena

He needs Fury to get noticed. You're obviously gonna turn around and say Fury needs Wilder as well...but no. Wilder fights in his own country and struggles to half-fill arenas, Fury fights a couple of stinkers in his own country for comeback fights against two nobodies and fills arenas.

Meanwhile AJ packs arenas and stadiums no matter who he fights

Bless ya wiccle cotton socksies! try again, poppet

What they’re trying to do is to get Fury/Wilder to forgo the rematch so they can be next in line. Then I would guarantee if they were in the next fight position they wouldn’t fight until fans were able to come back. They’d then hem and haw over well we can’t make the match blah blah blah.

Personally what I would like to see is AJ vs Fury for all the marbles. Pulev vs Wilder for the #1 contender spot and Usyk vs Povetkin/Whyte II winner for the #2 contender spot.

The only way Fury vs AJ could happen is if the Saudi’s are willing to put up a huge fee to have a heavyweight unification in their country. Then the live gate doesn’t matter similar to AJ/Ruiz 2.
They don’t care about making a profit. Similar to their billion dollar deal with WWE they see it as positive PR for their country.
Hell they could pay Wilder a $20 million step aside fee and guarantee both fighters $100 million each.
That’s pocket change for that Saudi Blood Money.

Soudi Arabia have a chit load of $ while attacking Yemen at the same time. But Windmill won't fight outside the states. I don't know why? The fight won't go to the cards anyway, Windmill is going to take another beating.

Fury himself doesn’t like second rated fight. It’s the reason why he was ready and prepared to drop his belt rather than fight Whyte at the end of this year.

He wants Joshua next, if Arum can get rid of his fighters mandatory (Pulev), then they should go straight to the Joshua fight.

Newsflash: the AJ fight wouldn’t be made either.
Hearn is all about money, you really don’t know that man.

Saudi would put the money down, if they can do so for Joshua to fight Ruiz, then they would do so for Joshua to fight Fury.

Wilder is not a fighter that would travel. He didn’t when he had multiple offers and I don’t see why he would do so now that his name was bigger than in 2018 when he turned down chances to unify.

So yeah he is holding Fury’s career down.
