It was a great fight between two boxers who were not even close to being great fighters. There were lots of knock downs because both boxers were hard punchers and neither boxer had a very good defense or a very good chin. The greatest fight of modern times? Not even close in my opinion. It was an exciting fight and a joy to watch but it takes two great fighters fighting each other to qualify as the greatest fight ever in modern times and these two boxers are very far from great fighters, Good fighters, maybe, but miles away from being great. Hearns vs Hagler and Leonard were all time great fights partly because the fighters in the fight were great fighters.

Zepeda’s defense is very good. I don’t know how much more impenetrable you’d want it, fighter’s get hit. His chin might be iffy, or he might have a case that some guy’s do who seem to go down easy but are never really hurt and get up easily.

His skills is also very good. I remember being really impressed by this guy’s skills and intelligence (which is for sure top lvl) vs Ramirez. But I also remember something changing. But can’t remember if it was him fading mentally or what.

Don't see it - and I suspect the severe drought of boxing is skewing your vision.

Decent fight for what it was, yes.

But ultimately, Zepeda may normally have good defense but he abandoned it when he got dropped - that's my problem.

I keep rewatching it too. Best fight I'm likely ever going to see live.

It was entertaining for sure... Like I-GO-FORWARD-I-DROP-YOU-THEN-IT'S-YOUR-TURN entertaining..

KOOTY candidate, yes of course. Can be from any low level fight too...

              But FOTY, nahhhh...

Agree totally with the last part. If you can't appreciate a high level brawl then the sport isn't for you.
