  • Why does PBF hate his dad?

Does anyone know what happened between the two? Did his daddy call him ugly or something? I saw two interviews PBF did in the late '90's where all he could do was praise his "daddy" (as he called him) and said he wanted to fight to make money so he could support his "daddy" when he grew old.

That was in 1998. What happened?

Everything is speculation but here is my take...

Floyd Sr. and Floyd Junior are EXACTLY alike...actually Senior is about 3x's as ****y then Junior...being so similiar appears to have made them grow farther apart...think about it Floyd Sr. requires just as much lime light as Junior...I dont think that goes over well with Junior.

Money-Senior isnt cheap and he dosnt give family discounts.

Ego...Floyd thinks anyone could traqin him and he would be the best in the world...Senior thinks that he made Floyd what he is and without him in the corner Floyd is vulnerable...Floyd has been trying to prove this a myth since the break.

I heard that Floyd hired Leonard Ellerbe who was in the music game and Sr. didn't like it and some argument or disagreement and Floyd threw Floyd Sr. out of his house he bought for him. All I know is they don't talk to each other anymore.

I think the father/son relationship very rarely works out in boxing, simply cause when **** hits the fan they're your father, not your trainer. Also father rarely let their children run their own lives which is a tough situation to deal with for both parties. Whatever did happen with Jr./Sr. I think it was for the best cause it helped Floyd become a more well-rounded fighter with the help of his Uncle.
