The WBO doesn't do Franchise champions. That was the WBC's way to cash in Canelo fights without pissing him off by forcing him to fight mandatories.

If Texieiera had earned his title the old-fashioned way, I wouldn't have a problem, but I think it would be unfair to Castano, at this point, to allow him to unify first. Where Charlo messed up, is to insinuate Oscar wouldn't work with Al Haymon, because Haymon is representing Castano too! Just make the Texieira vs. Castano fight ASAP, and winner unifies with Charlo!

WTF??? You do realize Jermell first became champ fighting for the WBC 154 vacant belt against some dude name John Jackson in 2015. The same way Teixeira won his first belt fighting a much tougher Adames for the vacant WBO 154 strap. Yes, this definitely is the fairest route to unification. Castano is a tough defence for Texeira and has a good chance of giving pbc a monopoly there.
