Remember Haymon Protected Jermell from Lara for years?!

All because Haymon and Shields are blood brothers they couldn’t ever make Lara vs Jermell... it was only around 2018 when Jermell started creeping his face around Lara.

Lara is 44 years old nowadays?

You mean when he didn't give him a fight he didn't think Mell was ready for? What's the problem?

Criticized for giving Lubin a fight he wasn't ready for and criticized for not giving Mell a fight he wasn't ready for.

But since then we've seen Mell has fought the best at 154 and he's gotten a lot better.

That’s not how boxing works, and since Lara no longer has a belt it’s practical for Jermell to not even mention his name. And of course the last remaining strap is the WBO, but we know they’re not steering at that direction unless Castaño has it, not Teixeira. Jermell can’t even say “I want the winner of Castaño vs Texeira.”

I ask this because Jermell simply says he only wants to fight best at 154... so if it’s mainly PBC in-house filler who is Jermell supposed to fight since he didn’t mention final unification? Is Hurd the “best?” He lost to Jrock? Jrock been sparked... who do you want him to fight? Lara never been stopped.

Rightfully so. The only one fighter that fight Lara when he didn't have to was Canelo and it almost backfired.

I find it suspect from GBP, such a high profile promotional company, would allow Lara on stage... almost as if Oscar wanted to dare/bet Haymon's dog with his. I mean look how tight Showtime were when Andrade creeped at Charlo's Jrock win. THey didn't allow Andrade and Charlo to really go at it. The Lara Canelo fight made sense because they fought on the same network... I believe the only guy whom wasn'T in on it was Canelo. I don't believe Oscar saying ''we told him not to take that fight.'' I'm sure Oscar helped plan that behind the scenes and Canelo fell for it.

That's exactly how boxing works. It's irresponsible to put a fighter in there with one of the best before he's ready. You can kill a fighters career like that. Mell was not ready for Lara just like Lubin was not ready for Mell when they fought. Look how Lubin's career has been set back because of that devastating 1st round KO.

Lubin should've fought Ishe Smith or Trout or Gashau before fighting Mell. He missed that step up fight before he stepped up to far

I only remember Lara wanting to go to 160 for GGG and GGG not wanting the fight.

Nah. You’re not acknowledging who Lara was meant to be for the PBC brand startup. Lara was Haymon and Shield’s most prized possession.

This is where GBP gets credit. I’d say had Haymon given fans Lara vs Jermell it COULD’ve been the DSG vs Khan outcome. The comparisons are almost in tact. Lara and Khan have more in common with movement and speed while Jermell and DSG are planters and counter attackers.

Imagine if Jermell had beaten Lara after Lara lost to Canelo. That would’ve been a build up fight since 2014. So GBP didn’t play the game of Charlo Bros vs Canelo. Imo, the Charlo’s would’ve been sparked even back then.
