That’s funny considering 2 weeks ago he said Joshua wouldn’t fight Fury unless it’s for all the belts, because his dream is to be undisputed.

But that only applied when there was talk of fury dropping his belt and fighting Joshua instead of a mandatory which was Whyte at the time. Hearn said AJ wouldn’t fight Fury if that happened. Because he would chase the belt.

So this whole Joshua wanting to be undisputed is just an excuse that they use when it suits them.

It's reasonably consistent if you watch the full interviews. Joshua has always said he wanted all the belts not the fighter so there is some change here which is good. Though there is a reisk Fury will no show up as per the intended Whyte fight, Klitschko rematch etc. In summary he wants to fight for all the belts but taking care of Fury with the WBC maybe faster than holing onto the WBO currently.

The plan described was to attempt to have Fury vs Joshua for all the belts for the first fight but dropping the WBO immediately after as it would be impossible to defend and keep Usyk happy who could still schedule his fight for the title (rather than hav ethe belt in limbo) .. however that would require Usyk/WBO agreeing and Fury/AJ fight shappening now and I suspect the Wilder Fury fight is the one they will put off forever.

Hearn knows that Fury is going to smash him up, so he's looking to cash his man out rather than risk him losing against some unknown like Usyk.

Urgh. I really dont want it to be a choice between finally getting AJ/Fury or keeping the belts relatively consolidated. If its not for unification it takes a lot of the shine off the fight imo.

            Not really.

People put too much stock in all these abc belts.

Fury and Joshua are clearly the top two men in the division regardless of who owns what belt.

This is why Boxing is losing ground to the UFC year in, year out.

You've got a massive fight in Fury vs Joshua, the biggest fight that can be made in boxing, in the marquee division, which could be the first undisputed Heavyweight title fight in? How many years?

But oh no here comes the WBO with their man who has had one fight at heavyweight vs a guy from the 90s and oh no this fella must have his shot first.

Then after that someone else, perhaps the IBF shall come along, with, I don't know, maybe Luis Ortiz who has earned a 3rd shot at the crown by beating some no-name and now you have to fight him before Undisputed.

It's just beyond pathetic, give us the bloody undisputed fight, NOW, not next year, not in 18 months make it NOW.

In the UFC you don't get this, Dana calls the shots and he makes the fights that makes sense.

So sick and tired of boxing politics.

Not at all. Hearn is a business man. Didn’t you learn how he controlled Andrade and BJS. Hearn is a mastermind like Arum at Top Rank. How Andrade and BJS haven’t fought after the PED incident yet Hearn still signed BJS... lol.

It simply means Matchroom gets more head room presenting Champions, belts for the broadcaster. That’s marketing! Hearn just milks and his in-house fights TOO LONG!!

He wants Usyk to have a belt for DAZN. Then it means Matchroom had two Champions. Gives Hearn flexibility for Fury options with his two fighters. That’s beyond AJ’s control. The only thing AJ got is Hearn PROMISING him the Fury fight and the right to his WBO belt again.

AJ is going after the belt irrespective of the carrier.
