Boxers saying "I am willing to die in the ring".

Can we knock this off already? Not a single fighter is willing to literally be killed in the ring for a boxing match. Yes I know they gotta act tough and all that, but come on, this is played out.

    Nah.

Just because you can't relate to men with competitive spirits doesn't mean they should stop speaking with confidence and hyperbole.

Who are you to say who's willing to die in the ring, or not? This is also a combat sport, a blood sport. May of us love the violence, the blood, the drama, the risks. We applaud those statements we don't condemn them.

Nah. No fighter actually wants to die in the ring or is literally willing to die in the ring. Its a ****** phrase and they're point is to intimidate but it falls flat

I dont think every fighter is like this

but theres are some fighters out really have that warrior mindset where theyre ready to die

I dont think Canelo, Terrence or loma believe this

but guys like rungisvai, Kirkland, and maidana were/are willing to die in that ring

Don’t have to look much further than Wilder earlier this year to see that some fighters mean it.

Trolls n casuals who have stopped learning and adopted a know-it-all personality are the worst.

Coming from you? Have you ever laced up a pair of gloves. I would beat the living **** outta you in a boxing match. Have you ever fought at amateur level in boxing? Well there we go. Atleast we know who can "relate more to men with competitive spirits" between ME and YOU. P-U-S-S-Y.

just by stepping into the ring a fighter has already accepted the risk of dying. When a fighters gets beated into pulp and keeps going they accept even a higher chance of death or serius life altering injury. Accepting death as boxer is not a yes or no check mark on piece of paper its more like ******** where one day you can lose it all.

Dead is dead and no good can come of it, from the dead persons POV.

Fight smarter, not harder. You'll last longer.

I’d say LoadedWraps makes the most sense from all of this.

There’s too much context, economics, third world boxers, and P4P ability that make the answers complicated.

The very best, true elites, know how to be calm, composed... anger can be your undoing have you lose the fight making mistakes. That being said, most boxers aren’t elites and truly in the game to scrap fro chump change to make a living since they rather fight than to do blue collar work. Some guys even use boxing as outlets to stay out of trouble. The wreckless ****ers imo, those matchups with genuine anger for something... will go to the deep and fight... taking too many blows, adrenaline, not knowing of internal swelling to the brain. Internal swelling is basically like being chocked, less oxygen, body starts to go into overdrive to survive and making it to the hospital to relieve the pressure etc... could all be too late. It’s a frightening way to die because when you’re blood drunk and brawling you’re not aware your internal safety.

To each his own. There’s just too many variables, and yes, some guys I imagine would even brawl to the death because going the distance is already hard in itself

incredible ignorance in this post. no boxer who fully understands the risk of being beaten to death or into a hugely depleted state such as magomed abdusalamov will accept this:

this is a 39 year old man. he's a burden to his wife. an incredible burden. she has to feed, bathe him, clean up his ****. he can't stand up, do much other than look around and he cannot talk. no sport is worth this, and shame on anyone who thinks it is. athletes who say they are "willing to die in the ring" are ignorant and it's sad to hear.

thank god that deaths and serious injuries in boxing are relatively rare. fighters don't owe you, steve smoger, or any other bloodhound a goddamn thing. they're med with families and no sport or feeling a certain way about said sport is worth compromising that.,

get in, get your money as easily as you can, and get out. how much money did you donate to abdusalamov's family? how often do you clean his **** out of his diapers?
