Ward only knocked him out because he drained him down from 175 to 168 which is the biggest ***** move I've ever seen a fighter use to get a big name. Moving up to challenge takes serious balls but this is the polar opposite so imma say this takes serious levels of pussiness.
Prime Chad Dawson vs. Artur Beterbiev.

He’ll give problems to Beterbiev the way Khan gave Canelo “problems”... Where survival each round is enough to almost edge you the round despite never out landing him...moral victory if you will.
Beterbiev is just flat out better (skills/timing), stronger, more powerful, and more durable.
Slower or not, Dawson was never good enough OR so swift that it’d be a talking point here. Again, he wasn’t uncommonly/ next level quick.Comment

Dawson would repeatedly beat Beterbiev to the punch. Beterbiev has never fought anyone as quick as Dawson was. He’ll give problems to Beterbiev the way Khan gave Canelo “problems”... Agreed. I'm not seeing how Beterbiev is better than the cream of the crop of LHW back in that time.
I think that Beterbiev vs Adamek would have been a close, great fight to watch.
Even more, I'd have liked to have seen Beterbiev against Paul Briggs, who had those two FOTY candidates with Adamek.Comment

He’ll beat him to the punch a few times, definitely...but it won’t matter because EVERYONE lands on Dawson because he’s got awful defensive instincts. He will literally just stand there and take it as he did many times. Dawson has quick hands and feet but he doesn’t think or react fast enough defensively. Beterbiev is a faster decision maker with better shot selection.
There’s a lot of subtleties in Beterbiev’s game, from the way he continues to reduce space/cut the ring off even during exchanges, his subtle (and sometimes sudden) head movement, his ability to block and catch punches, etc etc
Dawson will move and jab and look good while doing it but Beterbiev will cut the ring off and the first exchange will have Dawson in deep s hit.Comment
