Comments Thread For: Chris Kongo Confident That He Would Knock Conor Benn Out

Welterweight prospect Chris Kongo feels confident that he can and will topple Conor Benn - if the battle of unbeatens comes together. Last month, Kongo stopped Luther Clay after being away from the ring for 16 months. He is looking to return on a date in November.

Kongo looked exceptional to me when I saw him the first time recently.

Kongo would dominate that bum with daddy issues. It’s wouldn’t even be competitive. Conor Benn is a major fraud, his record is completely padded and manufactured.

And that’s coming from someone who thinks his dad is one of our greatest fighters over the last few decades.

I remember one fight where they didn't even bother announcing hes opponents name. Conor don't seem like a bad bloke, but Nigel was special and he aint got that thing about him he's dad had.

I can’t take to the kid tbh, just comes across arrogant and self entitled. He talks like he’s actually earned his stripes when in reality without his second name being Benn he’d struggle to win an area title. I feel like he doesn’t take the sport seriously tbh.

for boxing’s credibility and respect these domestic fights should happen , boxing like any sport should be about having to face opponents and take your chance if you are regarded to be at the same level, the winner then moves on . How can any creditable sportsperson brag how good they are by winning against vastly inferior competition and boasting on social media .

True. I’ll be very surprised if he wins a British title unless it becomes vacant and Hearn wangles him a very easy fight.

He always strikes me as a guy who probably realised he’s not clever enough to have a different career, and his dad is rich but not rich enough to just live on for the rest of your life doing anything you want, It’s not like his dad as Mayweather money and he has plenty of kids too and been retired 25 years. So he probably decided to box to cash in on his dad’s name to make his own money.

Good luck to him and maybe he can prove everybody wrong but I doubt it.

People compare him to Eubank jr. But Eubank can compete at a good level and could probably win a version of a world title with the right opponent. Eubank has wanted to box since he was a kid though and not simply be a gimmick with the name, That’s why he reached a decent level at least.
