Comments Thread For: Hearn: Whyte Taking Povetkin Rematch So Quickly is Extremely Dangerous

Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte, admits his fighter is taking a very dangerous risk by immediately jumping into a rematch with Alexander Povetkin. Last month at Matchroom's Fight Camp in Brentwood, Povetkin scored a sensational knockout of Whyte in the fifth round.

What the **** happens if Whyte gets KO'd again?

Whyte is not a good boxer and is liable to "switch off" again.

What's definitely very dangerous is the BBBC only giving a 28 day suspension after a ko as heavy as that one was.

The BBBofBS didn't mind him drugging or glove swapping, putting his victims at risk. Why would they worry about him?

            Captain No Sh^t over here.

I'm surprised Whyte is being allowed to fight by the commission & his promoter so soon after that KO.

But at the same time back to back training camps are harder when you are 40 which is why you are doing the immediate rematch.

Yeah what if white gets k o again and ends with him getting really hurt? Does Hearn go to jail ? Just curious probably not, and training is hard when you get to 40 not when you are Russian

                  ****lian Shayte

What is most annoying is people keeping talking about shyte fighting for a world title. He's a nobody, hasn't got marketing power, **** boxer, ugly as f. Stop talking about him back in the mix. Andy ruiz or Louis ortiz would wipe their arses with a joke like whyte.

Whyte got chinned, with a well-drilled shot, simple as that. He didn't take a one-sided beatdown. Boxers get dropped heavy in sparring/prep all the time, especially HW's doesn't stop them going ahead and competing. They'll be scans and tests that he's had to satisfy the board with passing.

Hearn's just doing his job, making the whole event 'make or break' so we all spend our money and tune in. Reality is he's far from finished if he gets flopped again. Granted his career takes a big turn for the worse but look at Del Boy.

If he wouldn't have taken an immediate re-match his career would have taken a turn for the worse anyway. I'll be watching regardless of the hype because I thoroughly enjoyed the first fight.
