From 95-98 quartey/sweet pea/tito : Don King kept Tito from either of those and for good reason. i gave him a good chance at beating Quartey because Ike was susceptible to a left hook. Quartey vs Sweet Pea was actually signed and I will always remember the date as April 25th without googling because I was in Bosina at the time. Once De la Hoya got to 147, everyone just wanted that pay day with the Golden Boy as DLH looked like **** against quartey and whitaker and looked the best against tito(in which I thought he actually won that one)

Joppy vs Holmes : 2 undefeated mws that sparred each other and from the same area. So from 96-2000 all we saw was them fighting inferior competition, thanks to Don King milking the public, and eventually there was the MW tournament in 2001 where both of them were beat easily setting up Tito vs HOpkins.

jones vs Mcclellan: too much to type. I'm still pissed about that not happening.

Carbahal vs Lopez -another one in which I was a fan of both fighters and wanted it to happen

Laila Ali vs Ann Wolfe: Laila was scared

Martin vs Rijker - Christy was scared

Trinidad vs Mosley - makes me want to cry that this didn't happen

Tszyu vs De la Hoya: I don't know why DLH didn't make that fight happen at 140. He robbed us.And before anyone saying Tszyu lost to phillips stopped this fight from happening, DLH was already at WW when Tszyu fought PHillips.

Mosley vs Johnston : at lw Mosley was a feared puncher and JOhnston was a great boxer. I still don't know why this didn't happen

Low-key example, but Joe Smith Jr. vs Seanie Monaghan in the aftermath of Smith's win over Hopkins. Not because it would have been a particularly great matchup (Smith would have won easily) but because it could have been very profitable for everyone involved. Two guys who were extremely popular in New York at the time, in the same division, Smith was 23-1 coming off a huge, huge win and Monaghan was still unbeaten and probably looking to either step up, and there even would have been the WBC international belt on the line. It would have been a license to print money for anyone who put that fight together. Instead Smith fought Sullivan Barrera and Monaghan fought Marcus Browne in their next fights, both guys got beat and a golden goose matchup went up in smoke. Smith has managed to recover with wins over Jesse Hart plus the recent KO of Eleider Alvarez after another loss to Bivol but Monaghan has lost 3 of his last 4 now, with 2 of those by stoppage, so is probably done, meaning that a fight between him and Smith is pointless now. I just can't believe they never tried to make it in 2017. They must have known it would have made great money, they probably would have filled MSG or the Barclays Centre, plus any promoter worth a damn would have known that both guys were limited and would lose eventually, especially to skilled guys like Browne and Barrera. Why did they not strike while the iron was hot? I'll never understand.
