What?! No, not at all. They were both straight right hand shots, but that is the end of the similarity between Linares' punch and JMM's. Linares' shot had the force of a stiff jab which caught Lomachenko squared up and off balance. JMM's punch had all of his weight, energy and legs in it which is why it was so devastating (that and Manny ran right into it face first). Never heard anyone compare those two punches, but I agree with the rest of what you wrote.

You forgot the fact that Loma's foot was on top of Linares' and if Loma tried to put weight on it he would have hurt his ankle most likely. Loma was basically on 1 foot there which is why the knock down was no big deal and Loma got right back up and did his thing.

I didn’t say I agreed ! I just said I like the confidence and hope it translates into an aggressive showing. If someone is supposedly on the way out his opponent should push him out the door. If Lopez tries this were on for a good fight.
