Best of luck Champ. Never too late to clean up. Be the toughest fight you ever had, but the biggest prize too.... from one who knows.

I met his family when I lived in Nicaragua. The first thing he needs is a solid support group outside of rehab. Being around his family and friends it is not surprising he ended up this way. They were pretty toxic and seemed to leech off of him any chance they could. Hopefully he can get the help and support he needs and continues to improve.

Lol I know the 420 thing, but that's simply my bday, nothing related to pot. I have a beer here and there but never been one to fry my brain.

If your nephew was in rehab for weed then he most likely can't handle most things

I'd love to learn more about Mayorga's family! Right when I was getting into boxing he beat Andrew Lewis and Vernon Forrest 2x. It was like watching a pro-wrestler! Had some classic fights in the early 00's and I saw him live vs. Cotto.

Biggest part of this shet is being able to change the patterns in your life that sustain your drug use, mostly if you go back to the same places and same people you'll fall back to the same behaviours. It's a cycle. If it's family or friends - or rather acquaintences - then he might need to face up to the fact that he'll have to jettison some or all of 'em to stay well.

Well alcohol is considered a neurotoxin that affects the brain too.

Mayorga was a g lol if you understand Spanish watch his press conferences with De La Hoya, Vargas, and Cotto pure entertainment he was an overachiever too probably the most famous Nicaraguan boxer since Arguello before Chocolatito came around.

Very true. This was the first thing my family and I had to help my father understand when he was trying to get sober. We told all of our family members the situation and basically gave them an ultimatum that if they were not there to support him then they should not bother coming around or being in his and our life. My dad has been sober for a few years now and our extended family has been supporting him as well. Tough road but worth it.
