Anyway, I wasn’t arguing against the fact that America is the name of the greater continent with the other guy. He seems to feel, however, that our citizens have ignorantly and/or arrogantly co-opted the name “America” for ourselves, and that citizens from the rest of the continent’s countries have somehow had their birthright snatched away from them. That’s just bs drivel. No other country’s citizens identify as Americans.

As far as the other hyphen bs goes, you're either an American citizen or you're not. Screw that Mexican-American and African-American horse****. If anyone wants to keep the Mexican or African parts so bad, then go ahead and head straight back there. The USA is for Americans.
