Yeah...I'll watch for free.
I think that Charlo double header PPV price is totally fine

Good card one match up away being a solid stacked card. It does have other good fighters on the card but they are no matched up to their ability.
Still for these times this is what you get and it is not bad. Don't think it will do well but you never know.Comment

The boxing economy has pretty much always been pay to watch for the most interesting fights &/or big draws. You had to go to a watch Ali fights at closed circuit locations back in the day. You had to wait a week or two to catch the Jack Johnson fight at a theater further back in the day. And plenty of so called "non-PPV fighters or fights" have been on PPV. Sh^t I think David Diaz was the A side on some random opponent PPV once ffs.
But yea this is a good card. But if you can't afford $75 or don't feel it's worth it stream it or learn how to hustle the system in some other way to not have to cough up the cash. Arguing against the boxing economy that's always been the same is ridiculous. Nothing is changing until the whole structure of the sport is changed in a way that being on free TV would make sense with advertisers or some new way of making money for 3rd parties or the promoters & boxers themselves.
Randomly I've always wondered if boxing tried that "pay what you feel it's worth" thing some musicians do/have done if mfers would be fighting for $72.95 total cuz boxing fans are so cheap or maybe a guy like Josesito Lopez would be making $2M a fight from all the mfers who enjoy him or others like him.Comment

What cards in the last year did you think were worth it? I don’t see too many people around here who think any PPV is worth it because of the atrocious undercards. How am I living in the past though? It's not worth the price. Not to mention that it's USD, so what is it going to be for us? $99.99? I would get it if it were cheaper, but the Charlo brothers just don't warrant that price tag.
Especially since I'm more interested in the Nery and Casimero fights (and neither are even fighting anyone of note. Just padding their records against padded records) than I am seeing both Charlo's likely get gifts on the cards.Comment

I think all of us need to face the reality that boxing doesn't occupy the same part of the American sports landscape that it once did.
20 years ago, these Charlo cards would be HBO or SHO cards and all of us would be excited. The generation before that, I'd watch this kind of card on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon on CBS or ABC.
That era is gone.
While I find the price a bit expensive, I am going to purchase it because I want to see the fights.Comment

All of this, and, in normal times if they could've put this card in an arena full of fans in Houston, it probably wouldn't have been on PPV, but the fighters gotta get paid and to over compensate for putting what would've been a massive Showtime Championship Boxing show on PPV they've stacked the card as much as possible to make it a bit more palatable... It is what it is.I think all of us need to face the reality that boxing doesn't occupy the same part of the American sports landscape that it once did.
