It's hard to understand Russell sometimes, but...
I *think* he's using the wrong words.
I *think* he's saying that
- Team Haney sent him a contract for a fight
- The contract didn't have a specific dollar amount entered
- Neither promotion - PBC or Matchroom - was involved in the contract or any of the negotiations for a fight
- Without a promotion being party to the agreement there's no guarantee that the fight gets picked up - which means no guarantee of payment
- So if Russell puts in what he wants for a fight there's a risk that Matchroom (who would most likely represent given Devin is the A-Side) would reject the fight
I *think* that's what he's trying to say.
But if that's what he's trying to say, what's confusing me is, why would he think that Matchroom wouldn't want the fight? Does he think that little of himself?
