Strange Gary Russell video about Devin Haney contract

It's hard to understand Russell sometimes, but...

I *think* he's using the wrong words.

    I *think* he's saying that

    - Team Haney sent him a contract for a fight

    - The contract didn't have a specific dollar amount entered

    - Neither promotion - PBC or Matchroom - was involved in the contract or any of the negotiations for a fight

    - Without a promotion being party to the agreement there's no guarantee that the fight gets picked up - which means no guarantee of payment

    - So if Russell puts in what he wants for a fight there's a risk that Matchroom (who would most likely represent given Devin is the A-Side) would reject the fight

I *think* that's what he's trying to say.

But if that's what he's trying to say, what's confusing me is, why would he think that Matchroom wouldn't want the fight? Does he think that little of himself?

Ahh, the TBA killer. This man is frustrating to follow sometimes. He’s clearly never recovered since Loma

It kinda sounded like a self defamation claim in part. He dont want any parts of Devin Haney.

It's just weird. I've never heard a fighter say that a promotion would NOT want a fight to happen with them and a top guy.

If Russell is a soft touch with a name (in the eyes of the promoters) that should be an easy sell with low risk.

If Russell is a threat with a name, should be able to promote it heavily as their guy stepping up a notch.

If Russell is a bum then I guess I understand, but why would Russell admit that of himself?

Idk but it feels like the Haney's pulled his card and he doesn't really want the fight, this is the exact kinda fight the promoter should want for Devin particularly with all attention the back forth they got going on is getting.

I've also wondered why he's calling all these names, Terence Crawford, Tank David, but hasn't mentioned another word about Lomachenko. He was saying he'd follow him to any weight class to run it back again, but that hasn't been mentioned from him again. He's working on diversion tactics..... Thats what it is! Lol

its common sense. with no platform on board there is no viewing and no venue. no one signs a piece of paper without those details unless they’re desperate.

WTF is so hard to understand?

Like with Canelo Lawsuit being Dismissed because it was filed improperly, sounds like Gary saying the same thing about the Offer Sheet from Devin father Bill Haney. It wasn't a offer sheet from Eddie Hearn or DAZN it was a Offer Sheet from Bill Haney and "Bill Haney Promotions". So the fight is not even official approved by DAZN, I guess Bill wanted to get his signature 1st then he would run and present it to Eddie and DAZN HOPING they would sign off on it and approve

Right now, DAZN US future is looking uncertain, even the President of Bellator doesn't know WTF is going on so yeah it would be ****** to rush and sign something to fight on a Platform that haven't even released or talked about releasing a Schedule anytime soon

Gary should listen to Haymon and his Lawyer, not some Clueless Ass Fans or Wannabe Youtube Boxing Experts who don't know Sh^t about Boxing Contracts or how negotiations work

Bill Haney don't have no damn Power, he would be ****** to just sign whatever he sends over all because of what Fans are saying

Russell should reject the fight and continue fighting bums once a year.

                    Let's try the question again.

What makes Russell think Matchroom won't take the fight?
