meanwhile a surefire ppv fight wont be ppv...which means likely the fighters are leaving money on the table

kinda makes you wonder why people are confident to put the charlos and tank on ppvs and arum wont do loma/lopez on ppv huh? but im sure its just cause arum cares about the people and the fans right?!?! lol

They want it on PPV because it would lose so much money on free tv. Haymon used to put big fights on free tv not that long ago. That used to be PBC biggest selling point.

Everyone is leaving money on the table whether it's PPV or not because they're not getting a live gate. Arum is a savvy businessman and is willing to adapt to a changing climate. Not putting premium content behind overpriced paywalls can only be beneficial in the long run.

UFC fighters don't have manufactured records like the Charlo sisters.

It doesn't matter if you've heard of them. Enough people have that'll probably put it's buyrate at 2-3x what the Charlo card does and it'll completely oversshadow boxing on social media.

Ugas vs Ramos(Weak fight) raked in 1.2 million viewers on fox(free) with an nba finals going on at the same time. I’m sure this fight would’ve doubled that. That’s gotta be worth something, they would’ve made their money somehow. Can’t deny they’re good fights but no way I’m paying $85, much less $75 for SD.

You said you were going to purchase the card, but that DAZN isn't worth the money. So one (this 6 card fight at $75) is worth your money, and one (DAZN with hundreds of fights at $100 per year) isn't.

Both AJ Ruiz fights were PPV level as well as Canelo's 2 fights. DAZN has the 2 biggest stars in the sport and a 3rd top 5-10 guy in GGG. They have Vergil Ortiz, Andrade, Haney and Ryan Garcia. Some up and coming stars/pfp talent there as well.

Their roster is probably about as deep as PBC's. And if it isn't it is just as heavy at the top end with Canelo/AJ, where the PPV fights come from. No one else really deserves to be on PPV, certainly not for any big amount of money.

Saying this card is worth paying $75 for, and that DAZN for a year isn't worth $100 (before the pandemic anyway).....you can argue that you are more willing to pay for this card than DAZN for tribal reasons...but for any other reason it makes 0 sense

I disagree that AJ/Ruiz were PPV worthy fights. You can make the case that the rematch was maybe a PPV because it was a rematch of a historic upset. Canelo is definitely a PPV fighter. No other fighter on DAZN is a regular PPv fighter as of now. The guys you named are too young or too unknown for me to spend additional money to watch them fight.

For example, Vergil Ortiz. exciting young fighter with great explosive power. As long time boxing fans we know how macthmaking goes for young guys. he is being matched with guys that give him the best chance to keep his KO streak going. I don't think it's value for me to spend money until he takes on better comp. Essentially, because of the way things work, we are paying to see him KO someone in less than 6 minutes.

How much better would it be for him to be featured on cable Tv cards on espn or PBC where people can just tune in and see him?

LOL. You know what I mean though. People forget fans grow tired of quick KO's when they are paying for it.

I keep thinking dazn should rebrand, drop the price, and focus on British and international fights that are top quality, regardless of division.

Make a deal with like NBCsports to air the lower level cards so American fans can watch young guys develop-sort of like USA Network back in the day.

Like I would have Usyk fight 3 times a year and get Flyweight and Super Flyweight divisions poppin.

Just to clarify - you are buying the Charlo card? (and obviously you don't subscribe to DAZN)
