  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois vs. Joe Joyce - Latest Details Explained By Warren

The heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois could take place behind closed doors on pay-per-view if crowds are not allowed back into venues in the UK soon. The fight between unbeaten boxers for the British, Commonwealth and European title is presently listed for October 24 at the O2 Arena, London, although it is understood that date will be moved back to November 21 or 28 in anticipation that there will be more of a chance of a crowd being allowed.

Well, without gate fee and no PPV, do you want fighters to fight for free?

No I imagine they get paid whether it's on PPV or not. Fox ESPN Showtime all have fights without them being PPV as a fight fan I wish all fighters well and hope they all strike it rich. That dont mean I wanna pay 75 or 100 bucks to watch every fight card either. Dubious or Joyce neither one has earned PPV status nor has a whole boat of other fighters.

Both big fighters. Different styles. It's gonna be a blast. I got no idea who's gonna win. Both fighters deserve our support, so there's no doubt it will worh the cost watching.

How is a fight between two domestic level fighters "epic"? It will be interesting but neither is near to a title fight and neither has proven themselves at a high level.

Where is the money going to come from to pay them? Fights that are not PPV get money from gate fee which is also dead now. So what remains? TV rights only? That may be sufficient to pay those 20K, 50K or even one 100K fighters but not those looking for a million or more.

That is why most major matches are postponed or are PPV. Why do you think Fury-Wilder isn't happening? or why Pulev-AJ is delayed or why Whyte-Povetkin was PPV? You simply cannot pay them with gate fee or PPV. You only get low level fights that can be covered using licensing fee.
