    Bob Arum smiles

One of his rivals is seemingly about to go belly up, he has the best heavyweight in the world under his control (Frank Warren is just a sham promoter,) and thanks to mobster Daniel Kinahan he has been able to add European cards to his televised/streaming offerings.

    Not bad.

Only PBC is standing in the way of him dominating the sport.

I noticed someone mentioning that there's been some social media activity suggesting some link between Canelo and ESPN but never got to check it out. Now I suspect Canelo will work as a free agent from here on in, but I can easily see some kinda co-operative deal with Arum getting put in place.

    You seeing anything like that?

I have only heard about it, same as you.

But I would not be surprised in the least if Arum (being a lawyer and all) advised Canelo behind the scenes on the legal angle to take in regards to DAZN and Oscar.

It hurts his rivals and potentially clears the way for Canelo to go to Top Rank.

pays Amir Khan $5m and with his 80 yrs in boxing experiences, all that he knows about boxing in america etc, he says "crawford amir khan does 1m ppv buys"
it does 150k ppv buys and it's not even half a fight.

gets espn to sign Tyson Fury...and still can't make money out of him. The 800k ppv buys between espn and fox (most of which were via fox) came at huge costs too.
the only fight that is big money for bob is the AJ fight.

The real reason bob via espn has spent all this money lately is to increase the brand value of Top rank and then flog it. he's been looking for a buyer and even pitched it to Blavatnik.
Maybe TR is sold to some saudis or emeratis, if it is, then TR ends boxing for dazn/matchroom.

Mmm hmm, now you mention it I'm thinking about Josh Taylor's recent defection to Top Rank over Cyclone promotions claim that he was still under exclusive contract. Clearly orchestrated by Bob in advance. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes out in the next few days and weeks.

Is one promoter dominating the sport a good thing. I don't think so. Look at the fights he prefers for Crawford?

Did Lucie Furr give Arum a five year contract to keep living?
