I don't think dazn has done a good job of developing an opponent but they do have quality fights for Canelo. I think the problem goes back to GGG/Canelo 1.

Canelo may have been better off having the judges award the 1st fight to GGG instead of the draw. This way people would probably be more willing to see him fight someone other than GGG.

The judges giving him a draw, angered a lot of fans, rightly or wrongly. It seems the majority of fans perceive it as 1-1 or 1-0-1 in favor of GGG and want to see the 3rd fight. As a result, Canelo not taking the fight makes him look bad and seems to sour everyone on his other potential opponents like BJS or Callum.

Imma keep it real with you chief. Nobody cares about that bull**** but GGG fans. Canelo was still selling tickets and getting the most subs for DAZN. Commercially it didn't hurt him at all. Going to DAZN did more damage to Canelo's profile than the GGG fights. It's not even the biggest fight in boxing anymore.

The problem is they didn't develop any premier opponents. GGG was developed on HBO for Canelo. You know I've been saying from the beginning that these people over there DKSAB. Why are they wasting time chasing Charlo for Andrade when there's more fighters on their app to develop Andrade into a premier opponent? What is Bivol doing? Why haven't Smith and Saunders fought each other? Instead they want another GGG fight (the second PPV sold less than the first), some MMA guys and Oscar.

Let's say Canelo fought and beat GGG on DAZN. Who was the next premier opponent for him?

With their stable of 160-175 fighters they haven't built up a premier opponent for Canelo. All that money paid and none of those other fighters have become "premier opponents".

What did they do instead?

UFC built "premier opponents"

and his own damn promoter.

Ok but I think it plays a big part. Right now fans seem soured on Callum or BJS. they also didn't find the Fielding and Kovalev fights compelling.

I do think DAZN could've made much better fights with all the boxers they have.
