DAZN had TWO years!!! TWO YEARS TO BUILD CANELO A PREMIER OPPONENT

With their stable of 160-175 fighters they haven't built up a premier opponent for Canelo. All that money paid and none of those other fighters have become "premier opponents".

    What did they do instead?

    HBO retread GGG

    UFC built "premier opponents"

    and his own damn promoter.

This is not a boxing network. They do not care about boxing. This is a Russian oligarch money laundering pump and dump scheme as I've said from the beginning

Well everyone wanted the 3rd ggg fight, but canelo threw a tantrum. That was about as premier a fight the sport had to offer at the time.

Whatcha talking about Willis? Golovkin was, and still is the best, most lucrative, most popular opponent for Canelo, and that's what DAZN tried to make.

And..... there are no premier opponents 160-175 for Canelo. He fought the 2 who came closest - Danny and Kovalev.

Read the post again. They had GGG, UFC, and Oscar. Two years in with most of the best fighters at 160-175 and they hadn't built a premier opponent yet. They didn't build GGG. He's an HBO retread.

Once again, Canelo agreed to fight GGG in May of 2020. GGG didn't want the fight and they agreed to fight in September of 2020. GGG still wants to fight that other dude who name i'm not even going to look up because he's not worth it

To be clear, you're blaming DAZN for not BUILDING a superstar opponent for Canelo in "2" years? (putting 2 in quotes since in reality it's actually not even 1.5 - no boxing since March)

That's not realistic for any promoter. Ever. And it's not like we're talking about 135 where you have a ton of popular/young talent. I guess they could have tried harder with Callum Smith to build him up, but besides him, there is no starpower around Canelo's divisions.

Yup. It actually made me sad that with all that money their promotional power was so weak. I mean, they didn’t even try to create any buzz.

Not 1 training camp special for a guy like Andrade in all his DAZN fights. Andrade has all the talent and charisma in the world yet they didn’t even try to promote or build him.

Not even 1 “40 Days” special for anyone outside of Canelo, Joshua and GGG.

They couldn’t even do any promo for Billy Joe Saunders who like Andrade, has all the talent and charisma in the world. These are star being dimmed by DAZN’s refusal to turn on the spotlight.

Even Devin Haney or Ryan Garcia didn’t get any promotion or push, these guys had to and promote themselves.

With their only outlet being the DAZN youtube channel, they had NO excuse to not have a training camp special that featured behind the scenes coverage for every main event they put on. At least once a month...no excuse. It’s tried and tested and the ONLY way to build a fighter’s profile. UFC and PBC did it with their Countdown shows, Showtime did it with All Access.

DAZN essentially became an underground platform by their own actions or lack of action.

What in the *** are you talking about Canelo lover. GGG has always been the biggest fight for your cs hero and he needs no build up because most people think he beat Canelo twice. Add to that GGG won a title from Dervy who Canelo refused to fight But if GG doesn't suit your Canelo loving ass Canelo could fight undefeated Bebavidez, undefeated champions Plant, Saunders, Beterbiev,Bivol, Andrade and Callum Smith but he wants no part of any of them. Canelo did want to fight an unknown Turk that Eubank KOed in a few rounds. Canelo doesn't want to fight any of those guys so he is suing so he can fight more guys like Kovalev and Fielding. He will probably be out of the ring a long time fighting nobody except in court.

Stop manipulating the timeline to suit your argument, we’re talking about when canelo gave up his sept date cuz he didn’t wanna do the ggg fight.

The fight has all but lost any momentum it had coming off the 2nd. Ggg looked bad vs derev, and suddenly canelo was willing to do the fight after saying his business with ggg was finished.
