Well this is interesting, Juan Carlos Payano never fought top competition at 122 but hes in a WBC 'eliminator' -- it would seem that the World Boxing Council loves giving losers undeserved opportunities. Incidentally, Payano was KO by Luis Nery, who is fighting for the vacant WBC 122 pound strap on the same bill.

So, Roman vs. Payano being a eliminator for the 122 WBC title, lines up Roman-Payano for the winner of Nery-Almeda. I prefer Nery vs. Roman, that is a hell of a fight.

Things just got interesting at 122 since Rey Vargas broke his leg

Roman is a class act. Got robbed by matchroom and their Uzbek. Looking forward to this fight. Feel sorry already for Payano.

Payano is a good class of fighter but I think he's in for his 3rd straight knock out loss. Nery vs Roman is a boxing nerd's kinda fight though. Nery gonna have two tough mandos coming and then Vargas whenever he's ready to come back. Pantera might prove some of us haters wrong.
