So according to the lawsuit filed one of the biggest sticking points was what was considered a “premium” opponent for Canelo.
His deal stated he would fight twice a year with half the opponents being a “premium” matchup. Unfortunately there was no language in the contract to define what that is. Just that it had to be mutually agreed on by all sides.
So who was on that list? Andrade? BJS? Smith? Nope
According to the filing Canelo asked for a list and wasn’t given one. When he forced the issue he got a list that included:
GGG
2 UFC fighters
And...wait for it....not making this up...47 year old Oscar De La Hoya!!!!!

Premium opponents to DAZN are those that would have sold at least 800k ppv buys if it was on ppv. So yes, those are premium fighters. Those 2 mma fighters are way more popular than any of BJS, Andrade or Smith. Same goes with ODLH.
