I believe Top rank is the most dominant promoting force in boxing right now?

Of course it is. Was saying this a year ago. Top Rank is the Death Row records of boxing. They have everyone that matters and they run the industry.

Top Rank has great fighters that can't sell. Before the pandemic hit he was taking all his fighters overseas because they can't sell tickets here. Now that the burden of selling tickets is off and Bob has convinced these fools to take a paycut (even though ESPN is still paying Bob the same) he doesn't have to take them overseas

You don't have to wash Arums testicles because he has your hero under contract.

Of the four biggest draws in boxing (Canelo, AJ, Pac and ggg) how many are signed with Top Rank?

          This is the correct answer.

Except, he has not and cannot convince Crawford to take a cut under any circumstances. And that same Crawford refuses to fight overseas.

          So you're left with

          Tyson Fury - Biggest draw
Beterbiev - Only hardcore fans, not a draw
Crawford - Only hardcore fans, not a draw
          Lomachenko - Second biggest draw
          Inoue - International draw

If I'm Arum I know who I would invest in based on this list.

TR has good talent, but in terms of starpower, they absolutely lucked into Fury. Without him, they don't have anybody. Despite having 2 of the best P4P fighters in their prime (Bud and Loma), TR has struggled to build them up for various reasons.

The fact that you listed Beterbiev instead of Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson is just head scratching....

On the other hand, Top Rank, Golden Boy Promotions and Matchroom USA don't even come to close to what the PBC has to offer; Which is why Canelo is about sign with them pending his lawsuit.

Also, Golden Boy and Matchroom USA could be on their way out of business because word has it that DAZN is closing shop stateside as they look to expand its headquarters globally.
Which way Canelo jumps is a significant factor in the power balance, I heard someone suggest he might go to ESPN based on social media activity but can't actually find any evidence in support.

Either way Als strategy with PBC was to develop strength in depth over just a coupla of divisions, dominating 147 and 154, which allows for many top fights to be made in those divisions, but the PBC roster lacks enough elite fighters in other divisions to consistently make top fights for 'em. FWIW I think it's a solid strategy for attempting to take control of the US market... focusing on narrow strength in depth as a platform to build upon rather than diluting the talent accross multiple divisions, but it might not be a strong internationally. Most importantly wirthout Canelo PBC may fail to draw the Mexican - American market quite as effectively given PBCs heavier focus on Black boxers. However if Canelo goes to PBC that changes things very significantly.

I enjoy Top Rank and their roster but sometimes I feel like their cards can be lackluster quite often and sometimes just straight up awful. PBC also has a pretty good list of guys.

Tyson has come at big losses for them, but Tyson's also said many times he has a few more fights then he's done with boxing.
He's just looking for the AJ money stakes and he's done.

Crawford doesnt do big numbers. Betebiev is 35 and he isnt in a glamour division. the only top fight left for him is Bivol and it wont do big numbers.

Bob Arum is 88, turning 89. The reason why Bob Arum has invested a lot of money in the past couple of years is because

                    1) pbc were running everything. it would take a LOT of money to dethrone them. Then dazn came along. espn/tr figured they'd also spend, looks like a 2 way attack on pbc.

                    2) to increase the BRAND value of TR and then sell it to a private investor, preffrebly an oligarch or an arab sheikh.
Even espn's affiliation with mtk global was to get connected to the gulf arabs.
so far bob has tried, but it hasnt worked out.
mtk global have lost their connection to the gulf arabs, but then TR have tried to renew that connection.
HE wants AJ-Fury in Dubai. Eddie wants it in Saudi.

Still, if an arab sheikh does buy Top Rank, they're taking over and it wont have anything to do with Bob, he'll be gone. It'll just be a brand with new owners.
However due to the current climate, the arabs are also tightening the purse strings like everyone else.
What if GBP split from dazn now and actually end up getting bought out by a billionaire?
