Comments Thread For: Parker: I Know I Could Do Damage in Dillian Whyte Rematch

Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker would still love to secure a rematch with Dillian Whyte. Parker lost a twelve round decision to Whyte in 2018. In that fight, Parker started slow and went down as the fight played out - but he dropped Whyte in the twelfth round and came very close to stopping him before the clock ran out.

DW was lucky in that fight. The headbutt basically gave him 2-3 frames.

****** journalist conveniently forgets to mention Parker got flawed by a head butt and concussed after starting strong and dominating Whyte.

If AJ got dropped by a head butt there would be an annual week long public holiday of mourning every year in the UK.

Parker had been asking for rematch for last 2 years.

But Whyte only interested in fighting best opponents like 40 year old marius wach, and unknown midget rivas.

If anyone deserves a rematch it’s Parker. Just removing the headbutt KD alone makes it a draw on the cards, and that doesn’t take into account Parker being in a daze from it.

Instead Whyte gets a rematch with Povetkin after getting his head knocked into the third row

Paint Dry Parker has done nothing but fight a who's who of the #100-150 ranked heavyweights for the last two years.

He will probably get the Usyk fight soon and school will be in session, 120-108 120-108 120-108 and that will be the last we shall see of paint dry Parker.

Whyte got tired at the end, that is why Parker almost stopped him. Rematch would be interesting.

One more bad loss and Whyte will go from top contender to punch bag.

Parker's failure to get a rematch with Whyte is more Higgins failure to insert a rematch clause into the contract. Instead it seems he was more concerned with a bigger % cut from the UK PPV money so you can't have it both ways.

Yeah the headbutt was unfortunate but that's part and parcel of the fight game. I actually quite like Parker, seems like a good man but in 36 rounds of sharing a ring with Hughie Fury, AJ and Whyte he just didn't throw enough leather. Far too passive, especially on away soil with 2 of the events being PPV. Those were massive opportunities to impress, the unification bout with AJ in particular.
