Comments Thread For: Canelo Sues DAZN, Golden Boy, De La Hoya For Breach of Contract

By Dan Rafael - Middleweight world champion Canelo Alvarez, stymied by his inability to get a fight lined up due to contractual issues with his promoter and broadcast partner, is taking his fight outside the boxing ring. I hope we get Saunders vs Smith now. A lot of other competitive fights are possible instead of everybody sitting on the sidelines trying to get a Canelo shot.

Leverage play by Canelo. He can afford to sit out but I’m not sure DAZN can afford to not have him fight right now.
Hate to see it but we knew he would have issues with Oscar after the **** he pulled promising DAZN a third GGG fight to get his own deal for his GBP fighters. That was some BS.

Let me translate this for you all.

Canelo wants out of DAZN, but not without the bag.

And he is going to go full Mayweather, making GBP and Oscar his part-time employees for staging fights only, instead of promoters able to speak for him.

          It's ON!!!

Except Canelo has been willing to do a 3rd fight with Golovkin...a fight with Callum Smith...a fight with Billy Joe Saunders...a fight with Caleb Plant...a fight with Jermall Charlo.

It has been DAZN and/or Golden Boy who have not been able to get any of those bouts across the line for him.
