Give it some time. You'll see.

He's fought nothing great or elite. Who's his career defining fight? He's fought a bunch of bums and people at a weight or age disadvantage. He couldn't even shine in fights with bums like Linares or Campbell. Those must be elite to you too? He's fighting a kid with 15 fights next.

      To each their own.
Look at size and reach advantage of Loma last opponents. He could not dominate as he did in previous fights as he had massive reach and height disadvantage. He had to stay a lot in firing range of these bigger guys to get in distance to hit them.

Who else from elite boxers could dominate guys much bigger then he? Pacman? But Pacman has same issues. He is venerable to bigger guys as he has to get close to them. He has excellent leg and hand speed, but his style led to light off against Marquez.

Lopez size is similar to Crolla. Loma had no problem to find range with Crolla. So Lopez will be easiest test for Loma for past 4 fights except Crolla, as Crolla was kind a bum compering to rest.

Loma by KO in last 3 rounds by body punch or TKO.

I think Teo can win this fight as the bigger, stronger, younger man, but if he's too arrogant, Lomachenko will eat his lunch and embarrass him. I do not think he will mentally be able to survive a loss like this. It will shatter him

I will jump in a pleasure hysteria if this fight ends up with a double KTFO with both fighters waking up like newly born babies. I dislike both these POS.

POS? Get real! I like Lopez, he's a good fighter, he's getting humbled on fight night though.

Saw them both at MSG same bill. Lomo by late stoppage after a great tussle and certainly being hurt and maybe even dropped....great match up.

                1. Teo and his father are the ones acting like Diva's.

                2. There are too many "if's" for Teo to have a chance.

                3. What was the quote typically attributed to Admiral Yamamoto? "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve"

Come Fight night I expect to see a combination of the very best of Loma we have seen up to now. I expect Loma to not let off the gas pedal all night and just mentally break down Teo while physically imposing his will. Loma is light years ahead of Teo with his boxing IQ. Power is one thing but even the axe man proved it is nothing if you cannot hit your mark.

Teo wanted his shot and he proved himself in his last fight against elite competition so I say let the young man dare to be great.
The covid pandemic hindered Lopez's growth though. 2-3 fights in between would have helped for his growth as a boxer.

You say a 'few years ago', and I get what you mean, but Lopez only has a few years in pro boxing. A few years ago his name was largely unknown.

The belt Lopez won was also his first and only real test of his career, and that just happened in his last fight.

Fernando Vargas beat Winky Wright*(in a fight that Winky should have gotten the nod), Ike Quartey, Luis Ramon Campas and Raul Marquez before foolishly rushing into the ring with Felix Trinidad at the young age of 23 and that didn't go too well for him.

About age, a 32 year old Lomachenko is a lot 'younger' than the average 32 year old boxer due to his elusive style where he darts in and out and minimizes the effects of big punches landed on him by removing some sap away from the bunch by moving away. So actually Lomachenko has not absorbed too many big blows to the head and body. His most grueling, toughest fight was Salido and that was really his last fight that he took any sort of hard blows at all. I'd say at the moment, Lomachenko, in boxing terms is about as fresh as a 25-28 year old boxer.

Many fans don't realize how much experience helps a boxer. It is very important to bring a boxer up correctly, pitting him in fights accordingly. The way fighters like Canelo and Chavez Sr were brought up is really the correct way to bring up a boxer. Experience is vital in boxing and despite Lomachenko having only 15 pro fights, his nearly 400 amateur fights give him a big edge over Lopez. Not to mention that the 15 pro fights have so far been against countless top 10 contenders and former champions, and at the time were champions. Lopez has one fight against a champion/former champ. One.

He would benefit greatly from fighting fringe contenders/former title holders like Campbell or Linares, and even kicking it up a notch vs the likes of Fortuna or Barthelemey. Like, CAN Lopez even defeat Fortuna or Barthelemey? Or Easter or Haney? because if he can't, he's in a world of trouble because Lomachenko is several levels about all of those aforementioned fighters.

If Lopez manages to defeat Lomachenko somehow, clearly (no robbery), it would be an even more impressive upset than Ruiz KO'ing Joshua. It would, in my eyes, go down as one of the most impressive upsets in the last 25 years.
