Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson: If Lomachenko Beats Lopez, Then He Gotta See Me!

Shakur Stevenson doesn't have to be a professional matchmaker to know that a potential fight between him and current lightweight titleholder Vasiliy Lomachenko, somewhere down boxing's typically long convoluted line, makes all the sense in the world.

The closer this fight gets the more I'm thinking Lomo has it but I do give Teo a good chance at a first half knockout

"I just think that stylistically if you put me in the ring with Lomachenko, I think I’ll pick him apart." This dude is delusional. Maybe he drinking his own koolaid or he got to many yes men around him. I mean if you wanna say you think you win, that's fine I guess. But pick the man apart? Would love to see Loma finish off Teo and Shakur before 2022.

Would prefer to see Loma take on Tank next, or if Tank is still not ready, then Haney.

I would have preferred either of those fights to the Lopez fight. But Lopez made the right moves and got his shot. Can't blame a kid for being hungry like that.

I don't like Lopez much, but at least he is getting in the ring with the best and not trying to protect his record. I can respect that.

You have have experience and understanding in boxing. When you say things like that... you just don't know what you're saying.

I'll help you. The first thing you do is ask yourself "Has the other guy been knocked out ever?" - If it's no... then he's not getting knocked out.

Second thing you do is look at resume. Lopez has never been in a 12 round championship fight. Loma has been stopping undefeated champions. You're telling me he has a good chance at knocking out one of the better fighters we've ever seen but couldn't get Nagatani out of there?

I understand styles make fights but Loma has been in there with way bigger punchers than Lopez in the amateurs, much less the pros.

Trust me; Loma will get very little credit for beating Lopez (yet another undefeated champion).

            Very well said.

Tank won't fight Loma. I sure hope he fights Haney next, that way the only person left is Davis and Davis will be backed into a corner and forced to fight.

Shakur needs to focus on his own division!

Him vs Cancio makes all the sense

Stevenson needs to prove himself and earn it. Somewhere between him and Loma he needs to see Davis or Haney.

I completely understand how boxing works. So let me help you....

A punchers chance is exactly that and Lopez has not only youth and power but he also has speed accuracy and timing.

Second I said I give him a good chance not a great one good meaning 35 percent maybe 40 if I was being generous.

I can see your obviously a big Lomo fan and that's cool. I respect the dudes abilities greatly but age eventually comes into play as well as momentum for the underdog.

                  Good talk though.
