Nights you thought a boxer was gonna quit boxing

So we all know the boxing ring is the circle of truth. Where did you see certain fighters want to quit or retire for good after the outcome of a fight?

    1) buster Douglas, showed up tubby for the holyfield match and basically laid down for the payday. This way of undiscipline caused him to balloon up to 370 plus and fall into a coma from diabetes. Fact check: he is alright now but he got his weight down by boxing.

    2) Ike ibeabuchi. This case seems different. He slammed into a brick wall injuring cripally his son in a car accident. The suits at HBO were worried how could they get a guy that popular who seems capable and willing to kill a man. It was the first time they seen it. He suffered from schizophrenia.

    3) mike Tyson after the Marvin Frazier bout as he lay shrunken against the ropes Tyson picked up his crumpled body to save him after a beatdown in which he replied "I wanted to quit boxing. I hit him so hard" iron mike was just doing his job but he felt sorry.

    4) fast forward to cotto mayorga: in the eleventh or the twelve they both exchanged hooks. Mayorga appeared to have shattered his collarbone. He is no wus, not the best fighter, but street tough. He could take a beating etc. But this one time he was SCARED looking to the ref to stop it. I felt concerned for his health Freal.

Oh and BTW the Ike fight that depleted him could possibly been the tua fight taking bombs from a young slugger all night causing maybe injury. His story is Neverending though.

Oh yeah then Jake Lamott a says:" let the kid take a beating where he gets the shirt beat out of him so he doesn't have to be saved by the referee. That way hell know whether or not he's cut out for it for sure." He said this sometime in the 2000s. Cruel eh?

When Duran quit in the ring.
When Foreman first retired. His attitude was very down. Did not think he was coming back.
After Holyfield was diagnosed with a heart problem.

Pacquiao against marquez when he was knocked out cold. Crazy to think hes still beating undefeated young champs like thurman 8/9 years later.

Also Kelly the ghost Pavlik. Did some really silly bid in jail I think in Youngstown Ohio. Seeing all the bad news about him (lost to bhop, alcoholic swerving, etc) I didn't think he would come back. For those interested he was on the Joe Rogan show. But the ghost came back all tatted up and had one more rodeo before calling it a day.
