Tell you what, I will take the Crawford more serious if he is able to go up to 135 and beat a big, talented LW in Haney.

So let's see this fight happen!

Gary's good but he doesn't wanna be calling on dudes that are big at 135. He ain't that good.

Haney should NOT be jumping in with Gary Russell Jr this early, don't let these fans get you into something you're not ready for!

I think highly of Haney as a young up and coming fighter but Gary is NO JOKE when he is active, that man has a P4P Top 10 Talent Level IF he was a more active fighter easily

So yeah, Haney is too damn young for fans to try and mount this pressure on him to jump in with Gary Russell Jr when it is more experienced fighters and Champions who want nothing to do with Gary Russell Jr and ducked him while they was at 126: Leo Santa Cruz, Carl Frampton and Lee Selby to name a few and they all did it for a reason because they KNOW how good Gary is

So I think Haney should go head and do the Gamboa fight for now, then next fight the winner of Fortuna vs Linares and then after than maybe you do look for a Gary Russell

You have matchmakers in this Sport of boxing for a reason and while fans and guys on this forum, social media and youtube THINK they know what is best for these fighters...we really don't

Don't get me wrong, if Devin Haney does it I respect it and if he loses to Gary Russell Jr I most certainly won't hold it against him especially this early in his career but I just don't think it make Sense Right now. Even for Gary it does nothing for him if he beats a very young fighter like Haney especially at this point in his career when he could be moving up and trying to get a much bigger fight with Berchelt

Thank you for keep it 100!
In June, when Shakur fought, talking about the 126/130lbs landscape, the ESPN crew had a sudden bout of amnesia when it came to GRJ.
That being said, I'd still like to see Haney vs GRJ because now that Haney is a champ, he can't be on the "developmental" path. That's the downside of young guys like Devin, Tank or Shakur become champion at such a young age.

To me Andrade is in the same situation regardless of how boring one fan might think he is. When a Champion holds a belt for a while and the other champions never mention his name, never call him out, it's a dead give away of how good that Champion is perceived to be by the other champions.

He might be a runt but I’ll take it at this point
Wanna see if junior is for real and at the same time , see what Haney is made of

That being said, Leo, Haney, Ryan, Tank and co been on GRJ crosshair!

Yes I noticed he’s been howling for a while now
Still don’t know if he’s for real or not
Maybe start by fighting more than once a year

If he's for real about it they should make it. I've seen pictures of Haney next to Prograis and Madrimov. He looked bigger than both.
