So, I've heard **** all about any changes to the team. In all honesty I was hoping to hear they brought back Russ because Russ is a pretty good and knowledgeable guy.
Given I've not heard any changes in the team I figured I'd look into what changes the team could make on their own.
Looking into Deas, he's hardly a trainer. He's trained two other men, a 10-3 and a 10-2. Those are hardly ever careers, more like guys who went through a boxing phase in their lives. Wilder is Deas first real pro.
So we look at Breland. A fighter in his own right it is fine to look at what Breland did in the ring and make educated guesses as to what he may be working on with Wilder now, but, Breland's acts are not his knowledge. He probably knows more than he does in the ring. Those are probably what he does well not what he can teach.
So you move on, who trained Breland? Dude called George Washington.
A marine in the 40s, a veteran of WWII and Korea, former sparring partner of the great Louis, but, sad ass record. His military record boasts 100 (80) - 14. His pro record is a god awful one. 12-33
Not much is said about him beyond he once sparred with Joe and was pretty good in the Marines. So, his style? No clue. However there is more to gleam from this man.
He trained Rid**** Bowe.
Isn't that ****ing interesting as ****?
Who trained Lennox Lewis? Well his ass is dead, but, we got Sugarhill to carry that knowledge.
Who trained Bowe? His ass dead too, but, we got Breland to carry on that knowledge.
Wilder vs Fury has WAY more to do with Bowe and Lewis than I ever realized and is talked about here.
Makes me wonder if Fury was sending a message that only a few would really receive. Lennox had the answer to Rid**** and if those are the greatest connections on either side that spells Wilder is pretty well on his ****ing own.
No?
If Jay's really just a guy with money and Breland is the truth then what can Breland offer Wilder that Sugar doesn't have the answer for?
anyway, I thought that was interesting
