Junior welterweight Jean Carlos Lobo' Torres of Trujillo Alto has signed a promotional contract with Mayweather Promotions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, boxing gyms in Puerto Rico are not operating, so Torres (18-0, 14 KO's) was sent by his manager Ral Pastrana to the city of Las Vegas to continue his training.

I don't know if this was the a good decision for Jean Carlos Torres.
The Mayweather Promotions hasn't produced many champions over the years, and even worse many of his fighters are shelved. That's why some of their fighters have left his stable. Including Josue "the prodigy" Vargas, another Puerto Rican boxer. Like I said in a past post on BoxingScene, their gym has a terrible reputation. A round doesn't end until loses the round definitively, they leak private sparring sessions to the boxing media, and they have that street fight mentality. They don't have a train, and learn mentality, they have a hurt, and insult their boxers mentality. I wish Jean Carlos Torres the best he is a very good fighter, and would've been better off joining the Top Rank Stable, their fighters fight regularly.

They do. But guys like Torres don't get opportunities like this very often so he's gotta take it. He's already 30 so he gotta make the most of the very limited time he has left.
