Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Campbell Fight Will Show Garcia Has What It Takes To Be Best Lightweight In World

The team at Golden Boy Promotions was as confident in reaching a deal for the biggest test of Ryan Garcia's career as they are of the unbeaten lightweight passing with flying colors. For the second time in the span of a week, the teams for Garcia and England's Luke Campbell (20-3, 16KOs) were able to avoid a purse bid hearing surrounding their ordered World Boxing Council (WBC) interim lightweight title fight. This time around, it was to deliver the good news that the fight is officially ready to move forward with both sides agreeing to terms.

boxing is great without the fans. you don't have to worry about the judges being pressure to count missed punches thrown by this idiot and his chicken stable mate.

He has definitely stepped up. Opposed to others in around his weight/age class.

I think Delahoya snickered after his statement. I know whats going to happen in this fight but I might pay to see that “OH SH111T look on Garcia’s face. He has a
joke of a amateur pedigree and people actually think hes going to win. Lol. Hilarious.
Hes in for a rude awakening.

You mustve forgot that Teo is head and shoulders above Garcia in terms of "stepping up". He fought Comey, who many on this site were saying he wouldnt and is now fighting arguably the p4p #1 fighter in the world in Loma. As for Haney and Davis, they havent stepped anything up. Haney was handed a belt and Davis is STILL ducking Loma.

There was a study done years ago on the influence the fans have on refs and judges. The home court or home field advantage is a myth. What the studies found was that the Ref's and judges were influenced more by the crowd than were the players.

Teofimo Lopez stepping up to fight Loma and Ryan Garcia stepping up to fight Campbell.

This is how boxing should be, not fighting bums while saying that belt holders need to prove themselves.
