Oscar offered ggg a flat fee of 10 mil to face canelo, which was more than ggg ever made and ggg said no, but when the fight happened, ggg got over 20 mil. Bottom line, canelo is getting overpaid so to balance that, they want his opponents to get short changed. Why should champions with real belts get short changed while a guy with a fake belt gets overpaid just because he has a groupie fan base? Either way, that groupie fan base isn't big enough to allow him to do big #s and justify what he's getting paid vs scrubs. He needs a quality opponent to do #s and that's why these other guys are holding out for better offers. Not because anyone fears Canelo and his low punch output style.

With Canelo, it's easy to dislike him. First and foremost, his fans are dummies. You guys refuse to be objective. Any given day you'll see Joe Smith, Chris algieri, Miller, kownacki, and Patrick day used to go there before he passed. Ufc guys that are there often include weidman, randy brown, Gregor guillespi. Those are the known ones and there are others who are lesser known pros and amateurs. So spare me your bullshet "I've done mitts and played Nintendo wii boxing with my boys while smoking weed" nonsense. This is how Oscar and the WBC manipulate ****** fans, they float D-level names like Yilidrim first so that when they make the fight with the B-level opponent they were planning all along, that fight looks good by comparison. Compare the negative fan response when Smith's name was first floated after the Ryder fight to the more positive response now to the idea of Smith after Yilidrim's name was floated in between.
