Will the x2 multiplier stay for baraou? I dont think he was the underdog for longer than 5 minutes.
Asgarth
Baraou, decision, close
Ramirez, KO, late
Ummmm... damn. Well yes per protocol we fix the odds at the point I put up the thread, but that is a fkn huge turn around from the initial odds, turning Abass from a significant 'dog to a significant favourite... WTF. I have to guess either there's been some news I missed or more likely someone's cottoned onto the fact that Sauerland ain't putting the young dude in with the intention of him losing just as an 'opponent' for Culcay.
In a way my hands are tied in that I've been clear about the timepoint for setting the odds at the time of the thread being put up, although it's worth noting that my usual go to - oddschecker - didn't have odds for the fight at the time I put the thread up so I had to use a different source.
Mmm. gonna have to put some more thought into this whole business, usually it doesn't matter much but there's been one or two occasions recently where it's made a difference.... not quite sure I've ever seen a swing this big before.
But. Yes. Odds and multiplier stand per the rules...
x2 on Baraou as the underdog and the x5 can still be used on him. Could be a steal for anyone with a x5 remaining.
For those who ain't seen Baraou is now riding at about at close to a -300 favourite from about a +300 underdog a few days ago. Effing crazy shet.

If Baraou is the favorite now then those of us who picked Culcay should be getting the x2 multiplier, innit?
Per the rules we stick with the odds as they were at the time the thread went up. I freely acknowledge it's a flawed system and there was some discussion of how to deal with it at the start of the year, but it's been like this since the start of 2019 and it's only these last few months we seemed to have had any issues with it.
Thing is usually the odds only shift relatively slightly so it ain't generally a massive deal, but this kinda shift is both unexpected and a little problematic.
For this week I think we have to stick with the rules as they stand, x2 on Baraou, but I think maybe we need to have a bit of a group discussion about how to work it going forward and certainly into next year.
Damn crazy though, I genuinely can't think of any fight ever where there's been such a turnaround in the odds. +300 to -300 in just 3 days is effing crazy, enough, in fact to make me wonder if we should be on the lookout for some iffy shit in this one.
Feel absolutely free to change your picks at any time up to the start of the fight though.
Every effort will be made to obtain accurate odds for each fight in the PICK EM based on an average of odds from a number of different bookmakers on the comparison site Oddschecker. The time point will be the point at which the thread is first posted unless no odds are available at that time. Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the odds are accurate at the time they are posted they will reflect the CREWs own final decision and cannot be overuled by reference to any external site or source, although they may legitimately be challenged if a poster has strong reason to believe they have not been calculated accurately. In any event any objections must be raised prior to the fight date and any decsion or ruling of the CREW on such a dispute will be final.
The thinking was that constantly changing the odds we were working with would be problematic since players would be making their picks at different times... some maybe days out, some maybe minutes before the fight and we wanted everyone working to the same odds. Didn't want to diaadvantage people who picked ealy or have to possibly change picks over and over to reflect a changing multiplier... ha ha ...IDK it seemed to make sense at the time...
Edit: FWIW though as things stand Culcays running at about a +225 average so not quite enough for a x2 anyway...
