I don't think the ref was ever going to stop it. Formella never stopped throwing and even in straight war he was landing on Porter's chin. It just didn't do anything, but Porter never had the guy hurt and he took some HELLACIOUS body shots and kept coming forward.

Porter didn't knock the dude out and Formella would have been a tough out for anyone with a mid-to-low workrate, because Formella was landing more than I thought he should have been able to.

Like if you put Robert Guerrero or Andre Berto in there against Formella, I'm not sure those two get out with a win.

Good performance by Porter. Pretty much cruised but when he did turn it up the guy was durable as fûck.

He should have been able to put someone of that caliber to sleep. Had to flip the channel to the Alvarez/Smith card after 7.

Bottom line, Porter got a win Haymon got the loss! TC would have finished Formella within 5 rounds, NO QUESTION!!

                  BS.

Crawford likely would have gotten Bambi'd off something that Man Bun landed during the exchanges just like he did against Gamboa - who also didn't have much power.

We already know from Ray Robinson that Crawford has a shaky chin, and Formella was landing quite frequently on Porter (who has a granite chin).

This guy Formella took EVERYTHING Shawn Porter had to offer and kept coming forward, kept throwing and kept landing. Crawford would have been taken the distance, too.

Formella is a world champion and (as we saw) not a puff like Indongo was.

Anyone who followed Formella's career would have known he wasn't getting taken out early by hardly anybody. He'd never even gone close with anybody - so either he was going to completely outbox Porter or get completely outboxed. There was no other option. The guy is F'n tough
