Comments Thread For: Hearn on Whyte's Loss: I Can't Believe It, I Thought it Was a Dream

Dillian Whyte's world title dream was left in tatters as Alexander Povetkin inflicted a second career defeat on him with a sensational fifth round knockout. Whyte had dominated the opening four rounds and twice sent the 40-year-old Russian to the canvas.

Fury was in Whyte's head and he disrespected a dangerous punch like Povetkin by overlooking him. He paid the price, can't feel sorry for him. He ran his mouth too much and Povetkin shut it for him.

And yet you get rid of Mike Hunter who was clearly better than whyte, and who many thought beat Povetkin. What a knob head

I'm gonna be honest...this knockout was very satisfying. Whyte was simply too disrespectful for too long. He's not ready for the highest level. Bad luck to Dillian, hope he licks his wounds learns his lesson and recovers.

This is true, the Gypsy King mentally destroyed Whyte without actually saying anything.

Tyson Fury is the master of the mind.

It was only a matter of time before he got chinned. He held on for dear life at the end of the Parker fight, and got knocked down by Rivas. Definitely the most vulnerable of all the top heavies.

I thought Povetkin was dangerous, Eddie? I thought this fight was a toss up?

What happened? Guess it takes more than 41 years for a cherry to ripen.
