  • Comments Thread For: Povetkin: Only Thing That Has Changed In 20 Years Is I Train More Responsibly

Alexander Povetkin feels as invigorated in present day as when he first arrived on the title stage. The longtime contender from Chekhov, Russia remains a viable player in the current heavyweight landscape even as his 41st birthday nears. Povetkin remains relevant enough to where his chances of an upset win are not at all discounted ahead of his showdown with Dillian Whyte-nine years his junior at 32-this weekend in Brentwood, Essex, England (Saturday, DAZN, 2:00pm ET).

You heard him, guys. He just admitted - PEDs are a distinct possibility.

      Whatever.

I put money on Whyte within four rounds, plus peanuts on a draw and a 1st round KO for Povetkin (at 126:1, one never knows in boxing...)

It's insane, almost 40 fights as a pro, former champion, he fought big names for two near decade, but for some reason Povetkin never ever fight in American soil...

Yeah, woundnt it be horrible for Whyte to face a drug taker. Then he'd know how Rivas felt.

Exactly........ they really did do Rivas dirty. It’s sad to be honest.

Fighters usually go where they generate interest and are marketable . The U.S here is a huge country compared to the U.K where he’s fought a few times it would be a hard sell over here outside a Wilder fight which never happened to do a U.S vs Russia thing and not speaking English hurts fighters marketing for sure . If Usyk spoke English he would be a huge global star .

Yeah, the truth hurts so much that the idiot I was replying to just blocked me. I guess he's still waiting for that press conference that Hearn and Whyte are gonna do to explain that failed test away..
