  • Comments Thread For: Formella: Shawn Porter Fight Is My Big Step Toward A World Title

A long-awaited return to the United States has been limited to a 14-day quarantine period in a hotel room, while awaiting a major opportunity for which he enters as a massive underdog. Indeed, Sebastian Formella is exactly where he expected to be in his career.

“To win a big fight in America has always been my dream. I am not here to be Shawn Porter’s opponent, although I know because it is (a PBC card) I am looked at as the challenger. I will do all that I can do in the ring to beat Shawn Porter and prove myself to the fans in America. I am not here just for respect; I plan to earn that but I also plan to beat Shawn Porter.

Humble and knows his place as B-Side. Especially the underline. I like it. It's what Crawford should have said.

I'll be rooting for the underdog...but I can't help but think it's another Indongo incoming.

Porter always tends to fight to the level of his opponents so I don't expect much from this fight against Bummella. It'll be another headbutting clinchfest, eyesore of a fight that we're used to with Porter.

That's a nice way of saying he isn't that skilled.

Unless the German has no chin he will outbox the caveman but get robbed on points like Ugas did.

'Man Bun' has never really been hurt in any fight - not what I would call "hurt" - not like Crawford getting pieced by Kavaliauskas, for example - but Formella has never fought anyone with Porter's power or anywhere close, not even Mbenge.

So we don't know if his chin is shaky or not - but usually when you're lanky like he is you're not able to take flush shots from like a leaping hook, for example.

Yeah, we found out. Best chin at welterweight so far besides Spence.

Unlike Indongo, Man Bun is a worthy IBO champion. He's got nothing to be ashamed of, he fought his ass off.
