Eh. I get what you are saying but this is a Arum tactic that's been used with great success for decades. I have no issue with it & am surprised more folks don't use it with how it's helped enhance TR fighters in the minds of fans & pundits with no expense & lil effort. I criticize Arum often but he's a genius for his better boxer association technique.

5 year contracts are not common nowadays when there is so much competition and options in the market, uk and state side. If this was a initial pro debut contract that would have been a good thing, not right now. Besides who has frank got to offer him down the line? Fury? Tyson ain't gonna fight him thats for sure, he has the remainder of his career already mapped out before he retires. Power? Well he couldnt ko Kevin Johnson, so his power is unproven at world level. Joyce and D.d are on same level at the moment yet joyce was never going to be a hot contender for world titles... his style and non existent defence isnt exactly the makings of a world champ. Warren will keep him fighting nobodys till he some how ends up getting a Mandatory spot with the wbo... same strategy he used for anthony yarde.Don't worry, Dubious has serious power. It's not his power that's at question. He just doesn't have the pro experience yet to say he's going to be an elite level boxer. Personally, I think he's on his way and is getting matched very well but we will find out more about Dubois when he fights Joyce later this year.
The 5 year contract extension is nothing new in boxing. Boxers sign contracts like that all the time, I don't know where you're getting that. Dubois is only 22. He'll be 27 by the time the contract extension ends, near the beginning of what should be his prime. If he continues to win until that point, he will be able to demand more money before resigning.Comment
