Showtime's viewership went up slightly Saturday night from the network's previous "Showtime Championship Boxing" telecast. Nielsen Media Research statistics released Tuesday indicated Showtime's tripleheader drew a peak audience of 245,000 toward the end of the lightweight title bout between Rolando Romero and Jackson Marinez. The main event, David Benavidez's victory over Alexis Angulo, drew an average of 188,000 viewers.

Man, I guess the key is to keep the fights on Fox, this sucks, was a pretty good card despite the robbery.

Two dudes nobody's ever heard of fighting for a fake title did better than the main event. Haymon and Lewkowicz have done a horrible job at managing Benavidez' career. It doesn't help that Benavidez is irresponsible and would rather be eating or partying than focusing on building a legacy.

Also, the Nielsen ratings don't take into account or reflect the amount of viewers who are streaming the cards online illegally either.

How can they if they are doing it illegally? I imagine it's more trouble than it's worth. I dropped cable and pay for a few subscription services that supply Showtime, it's been how I watch fghts recently. Can't deal with lag issues when treading out to deep waters, rather spare a few bucks to watch legally without issue or damaging the sport we love.

Not surprised no one buys showtime anymore everyone just streams whatever fights are on.

Showtime has been dying for years now.

These numbers suck. But since it’s not Top Rank or DAZN they won’t say it that way. But anytime there’s a chance to take a shot, they will. Except for pbc related stuff of course.

Sports in general are all down that push the *** narrative.

NBA has completely tanked in the ratings to embarassing lows.

NFL is next to tank with the kneeling.

Boxing needs to Box and leave social issues out of the business. Dazn lost alot of Subs today over their agenda driven story.

Not surprised. People cut premium channels out after coronavirus hit their wallets. And HBO, Showtime, etc. have been churning out garbage shows for years. Eventually people just don't wanna pay for that.

You don't know how right you are. I have a decent amount of disposable income. I don't like Netflix or Amazon Prime so all I get is sports. MLB, NFL, NHL, College Sports Package, and DAZN for boxing.

MLB already charged me for the season so I'm stuck with that for now. The rest? Gone for good.

I don`t know why the media keeps saying Angulo`s corner stopped the beating....it was Angulo himself who the moment he sat on his stool said clearly in Spanish " no puedo mās " ( I can`t anymore" ), and the corner said " stop it ". Angulo`s quote could be heard because there were no fans.
